"I've been playing guitar for about 11 years. For most of those years I've been playing the
same old stuff. I was looking for a way to take some advanced lessons. I have a very busy schedule, and live in New York City. My
only option was to lug my axe all over town on the subway, not to mention up and down the stairs to my 4th floor walkup apartment;
something I was not interested in doing. Taking lessons from Lyle on the Internet was a no brainer. No commute, and a far better
bargain then what's available in the city. His guitar skill speaks for itself on the web site."
- Kevin G. New York City
"The live lessons are great, not only is it a one on one experience, it is in the comfort of
your on home. In addition, your lesson is archived and you can review it whenever you need to. Lyle is a great teacher, very well
rounded in all styles and is very helpful. The online lessons are awesome. Thank you Lyle!"
- Mike H. California
"Hi Lyle, I have been very happy with the online lessons you have
provided through Riff-Interactive. Overall the lessons have worked very
well providing a unique delivery mechanism for taking lessons in the
comfort of my own home studio. I like the fact that I am able to take
a lesson in the comfort of my own home studio and keep costs down by you
or I not having to travel to spend some time studying together. Lyle,
your instruction is very professional and you have exhibited a high
degree of flexibility of teaching and music styles. I have learned many
new songs and a greater understanding of improvisation. Thanks for all you have done to make this an enjoyable experience!"
- Scott G. Washington
"The online lessons have worked very well for me so far. We have experimented with a variety
of media interfaces such as chat and NetMeeting and have had success with each. Lyle and I are currently experimenting with
asynchronous lessons, which are
helping with some differences in time zones. In the future, I expect to use
both synchronous and asynchronous lessons. I mostly like the lessons because Lyle can present the material with a variety of media
types. I find it extremely valuable to see the music come to life through the animated fretboard. I
also find it very important to have the lessons archived for my continuing
study. I like to be able to slow down the media and then slowly work up to
full speed. Lyle has an excellent ability to transcribe and provide theory background to the specific songs I'm interested in. In
addition,
his computer skills are excellent which facilitates this learning method. So far, I have learned what I have asked to learn. I've
been interested in learning the somewhat quirky style of one of my favorite bands. I've been able to learn the songs and have also
learned the key along with the scales used to play the songs."
- Jason M. Florida
