hi michael.
i have a question and i am sorry if i gonna sound vague (it's because i am looking in the dark...).
o.k. here it is: many times when i open the radio i heer these bright rock/pop songs ( i.e: i love you just the way you are etc...)but sometimes i hear in some of these songs some great rock guitar solos.
do you know what i mean?
could you give me examples of artists, songs and solos of that kind?
thank you very much.

Hey Alon
Happy New Years! What you are talking about are melodic solos, usually played in ballads, rock ballads, etc. The solos include slow melodic lines that repeat or improvise on the main melody and scale structure of the song. Bands I can think of off the top of my head is Journey, 80s heavy metal band ballads (Tesla, Warrent, Night Ranger,...), 70s ballads, etc.

Thanks
Michael J
