I've been thinking about getting some rythm device to practice to. It should be able to play drums as well as bass guitar sounds. The problem is that I don't have any experience with what one could call music programming.

The Boss DR-3 drum machine seems to fit the bill, but I thought I'd check with someone if there are any other easy ways to get a "band in a box", either some good PC software or a drum machine. I'm not too keen on spending loads of time learning to program the thing.

Thanks
Anders

You could download a demo version of Band in the Box. The demo version has a few limitations. One being you can't save anything but its really easy to program a chord progression and rhythm style. Quick and easy if you want something simple to jam over.

I use ACID PRO 6 to record and mix. I also use it to make drum patterns using drum loops and samples.

Free download demos:

Thanks, I'll try these out. Both software packs seems to fit the bill.
