I'm a beginner struggling with small hands. I read the great thread posted here a few weeks ago; so I got a capo to play around with on my Squire Tele. Tried 24" (first fret) and it was much better, then I tried 22.75" (second fret) -- wow what a difference!!! With a 22.75" scale I could actually practice rather than struggle.

The tone suffers, but I've got light strings on it tuned down a whole step. With the low string tension I'm thinking I could probably handle heavy strings.

My question now is there anyone making 22.75" necks that will fit a Tele??? I've tried a Strat and I just don't like the feel of them. So the Strat Jr. is out of the question.

I contacted Warmoth; but they don't make anything shorter than 24". I asked if they could make me a Tele body to fit a Strat Jr. neck, but they said a Strat Jr. neck just won't work on a standard sized body.
