Jazz Connection - Monday - Week 1

Today's example is a jazz/blues style line for the static C dominant 7th chord. This lick demonstrates the 8-note dom C scale which is basically a major scale with an added b7th. The major 7th tones become chromatic passing notes which give the melody it's jazz sound. Alternate pick all notes in the line, but you can also apply hammer-ons and pull-offs or even sweeps if you like. Start slow playing it as 8th notes then try to burn one at 16ths. Use the loop & tempo controls to slow the notation to your skill level. You can also check out the picking video if you need additional help.
