Progressive Rock Guitarists - Friday - Week 4

In today's example of creating melodic themes and variations, you'll be playing a 2 string lick that starts low on the neck at the 2nd and 4th frets. This will be your theme. By simply transposing this lick up the neck, you'll create a variation of this theme. Notice how the lick sounds more exciting and dynamic as it goes through each of the variations. This holds true to most any licks built around the theme and variation technique.
