This Steve Cropper type lick starts by barring the 2nd, 3rd & 4th strings (12th fret) with your first finger and sliding downward. Immediately follow by using your 1st finger to slightly hold the note on the 12th fret/6th string while playing a syncopated picking pattern. Later in the phrase you play the barre notes on the 14th and 12th frets.
