Riffs You can Use - Part 15
Good evening, how is everyone?
Lyle: In this lesson I have another funk style
riff to show you. The rhythm riff reminds me of something Joe Satriani might
ace: doing good
Lyle: It's based off a Gm triad to a
Lyle: Here's a jam track with the rhythm guitar in
Lyle: To get that rhythm guitar tone, try using a
strat style guitar with a clean amp setting. Select the 2nd position on the
5-way pickup switch, which turns on the bridge and middle pickups on the guitar.
I call that the funky setting.
Lyle: My favorite scales to use against a jam
track like this are the Gm blues and G Dorian, which is a minor

The minor blues is: 1, b3, 4, b5, 5, b7
Lyle: The minor pentatonic is: 1, b3, 4, 5,
Dorian is minor blues with 2, 4, and 6
Lyle: Dorian doesn't have a b5, but the minor
Lyle: they all have 4ths in
