Progressive Rock Guitarists - Tuesday - Week 2

Today's example of moving a shape around the neck is a simple 2 string, 2-finger shape sliding up and down the neck. This lick is based around the whole tone scale. The whole tone scale is simply made up of whole steps only (the whole step equals 2 frets) and is a great scale for going "outside" the key to give your sound a more "jazzier" style. This use of the whole tone scale can give your playing a style similar to guitarists Pat Matheny and Frank Gambale.
