guitar teacher - Rob Metz

Rob has been teaching for more than 15 years and can teach beginners as well as advanced players. Rob specializes in Rock, but can teach many styles as well as the basics that would be necessary for all styles of player. You can learn basic chord and scale shapes, songwriting techniques as well as speed and shred techniques.

Rob Metz is a musician specializing in instrumental rock guitar. Composing, recording and performing melodic instrumental music. He serves the song with melodic phrases rather than mindless shredding.

Rob Metz has been influenced by some of the greatest players to walk the planet - Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Neal Schon, Jeff Beck and Andy Timmons. You will hear these influences in the playing. Rob has studied with Freddy DeMarco, Neil Zaza and Dave Weiner (guitarist with Steve Vai) among others.

Rob has performed with National artists - Carmine Appice, Vinnie Moore, Nick Catanese (Black Label Society), Joe Stump, Rob Balducci, Dave Weiner and Jennifer Batten as well as notable local artists - Rob has written and recorded full-length albums and also works for Morley pedals as a demonstrator at trade shows.

In 2006, Metz released his debut CD, "Legion of Dreams". A personal album, Metz described it as “a voyage into mystic melody”, delivering a masterful blend of rock, bluesy experimentation, with a dash of industrial-strength shredding for good measure. Audiences were blown away as Metz took command of the stage during the 2007 promotion of Legion of Dreams performing in and around the Northeast Ohio area on primarily progressive rock bills. Metz staked his claim outright and deservedly so. Metz’s follow up CD “Axis Shift” was released June 2008 at The House of Blues, Cleveland Ohio. Axis Shift is another step in my evolution as a player and song writer. This CD has a wide array of guitar tones and stylistic leanings. Much more diverse than previous works. The CD has numerous instrumentation additions, Piano, Saxophone, Orchestral strings, choir and djembe with a much more evident volume dynamic. I hoped to make the music more accessible stylistically than Legion of Dreams was. It has rock songs, ballads and some eccentric guitar tones that will appeal to the emotions.

"Time is Short" is a Digital only EP released January 2011 that features some well known guests like Prashant Aswani. The release also features an instrumental rendition of the Christmas song "God rest ye merry gentlemen".
