In today's Lick of the Day example, you'll need to stretch your hand out a little bit before you start. Your 1st finger will be on the 13th fret, 2nd finger on the 14th fret, and your 4th finger on the 17th fret. See if you can lay your fingers on the frets mentioned above to see if you can position your wrist to accommodate the stretch. As you learn the lick, notice that you don't have to pick every note (see video clip). You'll pull-off and hammer-on all the notes, picking just once for each string. This lick is based on the F# minor pentatonic scale in the style of metal guitarist, Kirk Hammett from Metallica.
